The Kansas State University Polytechnic Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will be hosting its sixth annual Girls in Aviation Day - a FREE program for girls ages 8 to 18, designed to introduce them to the possibilities available with a career in aviation - on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Stevens Flight Center.
The day's activities will take place from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. and lunch will be served. All guests will receive a drawstring sports pack, WIA Aviation Fun Patch, Whirlygig, a copy of Girls in Aviation magazine and a limited-edition t-shirt. The first 100 girls to register will receive an additional surprise. If you attended our event in the past, we encourage you to wear your Girls in Aviation Day t-shirt!
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to women in various fields of aviation and aerospace, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, and more. Exciting hands-on activities, such as flight simulators and much more.
Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay at the Stevens Flight Center.

USD 243 Lebo-Waverly schools will not require the wearing of masks at this time in school. Masks will be required while using school transportation. There is a federal order requiring masks on buses and school transportation.
Masks are recommended but not required for students under age 12.
Evergy has scheduled a power outage on August 18. This outage will last 6-8 hours in the Lebo, Waverly, and areas surrounding. Please plan accordingly!
1st Time Students are the only students that need to use the E-Collect online registration!! If your students have previously attended any school in USD 243, you need to login to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account and go to forms and complete the registration process. If you can't get into your Parent Portal account, contact your school office to help get you connected!

Only use the https://ecollect.accelaschool.com/usd243 link to enroll STUDENTS THAT DID NOT ATTEND A USD 243 SCHOOL LAST YEAR! If you student attend a USD 243 school last year, go to usd243.powerschool.com and log into the parent portal! If. you need your access code and password, please call the school.
PreK parents, we have the new student enrollment corrected! You can now register your PreK students!
PowerSchool Online registration is now live! If you already have a parent account in PowerSchool, login in and select a student. On the left side of the page, just below "Teacher Comments", you will see "Forms". Click Forms and you will see the necessary forms on the right. Click on the first form and you are on the way. Once all the forms are complete, be sure to click submit.
If you don't have a parent account, you will need to contact the school for your access ID and password. Once you have them, go to usd243.powerschool.com and set up a user account. There will be additional instructions on the school web page.
If you have problems, please contact the school! If necessary, enrollment can be completed at the school! Thursday at Waverly and Friday at Lebo, from 8:00-4:00

USD 243 Schools online enrollment will be open from August 2nd-August 10th. All returning students should receive an email with an enrollment link. If you do not receive the email, please call the school for further instructions. New Pre-K, Kindergarten and new students can enroll online through our website www.usd243ks.org/. In person enrollment is August 5th at Waverly & August 6th at Lebo, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm for those that cannot enroll online. All fees are due by August 13th to include textbook fees, band fees, and food service.

Good luck today to the Lady Wolfdogs and Wolfdogs as they start regional play. The Lady Wolfdogs will have a two hour delay, which means their games will start at 3:00 instead of 1:00 at Bluestem HS in Leon. The Wolfdogs will play as schedule at 4:00 in Humboldt.
Coffey County Patrons:
We need your help to put together an accurate Coffey County internet map. After this past year, we have learned how important internet service is and how it affects our daily lives. It is truly an essential service we cannot be without in today’s world. We know there are places in Coffey County where reliable and affordable internet service is not available. Unfortunately, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) indicates Coffey County is 99.5% served with 25/3 MBPS service (Source: 2019 FCC Broadband Deployment Report published July 24, 2019). This information currently prohibits Coffey County from receiving Federal and State money being awarded to help rural Americans get adequate internet service. This is where we need your help to put together an accurate internet access map of Coffey County.
How can you help? Click this link http://madtel.com/coffey-county-test-your-speed to take an internet speed test. This test will take less than 2 minutes and simply asks for you to enter your address. There is also an option if you do not have available services at your address. This test can be performed at multiple locations, or if you do not have internet at your home, it can be done from any public access point, such as a library. Personal information is not retained, only your location and speed test results, which will be used to create a plotted map.
This information and crowdsourcing map is a critical step in the process of getting all Coffey County citizens access to adequate internet service. We hope to take this map to the FCC to prove the inaccuracy of their current map. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
