Thank you to Kristi Vogts of the Coffey County Conservation District for bringing the soil trailer for the JH students to see and learn from.




There will be a parent meeting for ALL junior high basketball players on Monday, October 30th at 6:00 pm in the WHS Old Gym. Thanks!


WGS 1st graders went to Lanesfield Schoolhouse -Edgerton, KS and Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in Overland Park, KS on Wednesday. They had a lot of fun learning about what school was like in a One Room Schoolhouse!

As part of Red Ribbon Week, we got to have Coffey County's Deputy Alec Smith with K9 Iron and Corporal Donnie Anderson with K9 DJ, two beautiful Belgian Malinois', for a working drug search demonstration. The kids loved watching them work and had sooo many questions for Deputy Smith and Corporal Anderson!

WGS Bullpups had a very busy day that started with learning about how important proper nutrition and exercise are. We LOVED Body Venture! A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who set up, presented info, and helped tear down. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog

Many of our youngest students miss 10% of the school year-- about 18 days a year or just 2 days every month. Chronic absenteeism in Kindergarten and even PreK, can predict lower test scores, poor attendance and retention in later grades, especially if the problem persists for more than a year.

We have moved our Band Concert to next Monday Night, October 30th at 7pm.


A great match for the Sub-State Championship but the Bulldogs fall short. Your Bulldogs are the Sub-State Runners-Up! Great season girls.


Waverly will face Lebo for the Sub-State Championship!! #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog


The Bulldogs are on to the Finals against Lebo at Sub-State after beating MdCV in three sets. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog


Waverly wins in their first round match against Altoona-Midway, and will now face MdCV in the semi-final game. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog



Join us for our Fall Band Concert next Tuesday, October 24th at 7:00 PM in the WHS little gym! The grades 6-12 bands have been working hard on some great music for you!


The WHS FBLA Chapter enjoyed a visit from FBLA State President Bailey Langley. Miss Langley came and spoke at the FBLA's monthly chapter meeting.
