USD243 Waverly Schools
On 04/19/21, the USD 243 School Board voted to amend the USD243 Re-Opening Document and make masks optional, but stated that individual teachers may continue to require masks within their classrooms. ALL students attending Waverly Schools will still need to bring a mask to school with them daily, as some teachers are choosing to maintain the mask requirement and will require them at various times throughout the school day. Thank you for your understanding and support.

The Coffey Health Foundation is gearing up for their annual golf tournament on Saturday, May 1st at Rock Creek Country Club. This is one of the fundraisers we host to raise money for our scholarship fund. We are looking for volunteers for various tasks. (Doesn’t have to be students – if any of you or your co-workers enjoy this type of activity we would love to have you/them!) But if students are looking to add events to their volunteer activity list for scholarship applications, this could be one. Help is needed with….. 1. Setting up the course – Should start around 6:30am – be finished by 8am. 2. Putting signs on the tee boxes 3. Changing hole flags 4. Putting up banners at various places 5. Tearing down the course after the tournament – undoing everything that was set up in the morning. Should start around 3 or 3:30 – maybe sooner. 6. Photographer – Need someone to take team pictures in the morning – beginning about 7:30am till 8:30am (Will need to keep a log of player names corresponding with the picture.) Would like a picture of all volunteers/names. If interested, would be free to take pictures around the course during the event – for however long they like. 7. Game Hosts - Will have a few games around the course for players to play. Tasks include – setting up the game (supplies provided), enticing players to play – collecting money/making change – instructing how to play the game and giving a prize if the player wins. This will begin at 8:15 and will last the entire tournament – till around 3pm. 8. Food Distribution – We will give out box lunches at the end of the tournament – probably starting around 2pm. 9. Cart Host – Help players at the cart pick up and drop off area. Morning shift – 7:30 to 8:30, Afternoon Shift 2:30 to 3:30. *Lunch/soft drinks will be provided for all Volunteers. *Volunteers do not need to stay all day – they are welcome to come and go if they like or volunteer for 1 task or timeframe and be finished. If interested, contact Terri Tweedy at 620-364-4575
