Just a reminder that the Music Memory competition in Sterling is tomorrow, Thursday, April 13, for 3rd-5th graders who qualified! We are leaving WES at 6 AM and they will need a sack lunch (unless they indicated they would have a pre-packed school lunch!) Dress is normal school clothes. Wish them luck on this challenging competition!
PreK screening- April 21 at Lebo for children who plan to attend 3yo or 4 yo preschool in the Fall. If your child has not been screened previously, they will need to attend a screening before attending PreK for the 2023-24 school year. Contact rbarraza@usd244ks.org to schedule a screening appt.

Algebra 2 students learned how RADAR works. RADAR works with the Cosine Effect which ties directly into their trigonometry unit. Thanks to Lt. Turner with Garnett Police Department for spending the morning teaching us all things RADAR/LiDAR and to Deputy Hale with Coffey County for helping with our activity. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog
Due to circumstances beyond our control all Baseball/Softball games will be played in Lebo this year only. We will return to our regular rotation next school year.

USD 243 Lebo-Waverly Schools would like to welcome Misty Demeter as the Kindergarten teacher at Waverly Elementary School for 2023-24. Misty has been the 3rd grade teacher this year. She has enjoyed spending her first year of teaching in the 3rd grade. Misty says she has learned a lot and had a amazing time getting to know all of the students, staff and the families here at Waverly. Misty is very excited to move to kindergarten next year, as she has 15 years of experience in the preschool setting. She wants to thank everyone for welcoming her so whole heartedly, and helping her fulfill one of her dreams! #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog
Today 5 WHS students competed at Regional Solo/Ensemble Contest at Independence Community College! Rose, Zoe, Sydnie, Gracie and Samantha all performed solos they had been practicing for months! The high school band traveled to the Friends University Festival of Bands today! They performed our state large group pieces for clinician Eric Stambaugh, received some tips and perspectives on how to spend the next three weeks prepping for state, and got to listen to some other bands!
