There are some new Basketball rules this year. Some of them may not be noticed by the fans, but the way fouls are tracked and free throws are administered is a change that will be noticed. Please be patient as this change is implemented this season. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog

There will be a parent meeting for ALL junior high basketball players on Monday, October 30th at 6:00 pm in the WHS Old Gym. Thanks!

WGS 1st graders went to Lanesfield Schoolhouse -Edgerton, KS and Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in Overland Park, KS on Wednesday. They had a lot of fun learning about what school was like in a One Room Schoolhouse!

As part of Red Ribbon Week, we got to have Coffey County's Deputy Alec Smith with K9 Iron and Corporal Donnie Anderson with K9 DJ, two beautiful Belgian Malinois', for a working drug search demonstration. The kids loved watching them work and had sooo many questions for Deputy Smith and Corporal Anderson!

WGS Bullpups had a very busy day that started with learning about how important proper nutrition and exercise are. We LOVED Body Venture! A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who set up, presented info, and helped tear down. #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog

Many of our youngest students miss 10% of the school year-- about 18 days a year or just 2 days every month. Chronic absenteeism in Kindergarten and even PreK, can predict lower test scores, poor attendance and retention in later grades, especially if the problem persists for more than a year.
