Teacher Spotlight! Misty Demeter- 3rd grade at Waverly Elementary, moving to Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. College: Neosho County Community College, Emporia University and Ottawa University. Enjoys: getting new plants, gardening or re-potting them into different pots/or mugs in my home. She love succulents the most. Ms. Demeter also enjoys hanging out with her family around a bonfire, listening to music and roasting marshmallows. She also really love going to the zoo with her girls. She grew up going to the San Diego Zoo almost every weekend as a child and has a lifelong love of the zoo because of that. Hometown: Born in San Diego, California and moved back and forth between California and Kansas because her parents were in the Navy. She has lived from 7th grade until present in Pomona, Kansas. Years in education: She has worked in education since she graduated from Emporia State. She started as a preschool aide, then became the Lead teacher and have been working with and teaching kids ever since, so that has been almost 20 years now! Fun fact: Her first class of preschoolers is now off in college! #itsagreatdaytobeabulldog
