Good Afternoon Lebo-Waverly Families As we plan our Continuing Learning adventure, please know that each and every student and family will be contacted about the Continuous Learning Plan that will start March 30th. This contact will be from one of your students teachers or a member of the Admin team. It will explain the process as we begin our venture into continuous education. You will be contacted in the next week! Thanks for your support and patience in these uncharted times! And as always, if you have questions or concerns, contact your students teacher or your building administrator.

USD 243 Lebo-Waverly Thank you to everyone for your patience as we deal with our building closure. This has been a difficult situation for everyone involved in education. There is no place we would rather be than in our buildings with our students. The USD 243 Administrative team met today to begin working on our Continuous Learning Plan. Several things came from this video meeting: There will be NO face-to-face contact between staff and students! Starting Monday, the following teams will meet to continue developing the District CLP: Daycare - 2nd Grades 3rd - 5th Grades 6th - 8th Grades 9th - 11th Grades 12th Graders Each team will consist of a district administrator and all teachers in the listed grade levels We are planning on providing educational services starting Monday March 30th. We will be meeting with our teachers in small groups on Monday to discuss what this plan will look like. You can expect further updates next week. We have had some questions pertaining to personal items left at school. We will be putting together a plan to be able to get these items back to students as quickly as possible. More information will be available next week. More information regarding the Continuous Learning Plan will be announced as soon as possible. Once again, thank you for your patience in these difficult times. If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact your building administrator! We are all in this together!

"Just take a second. Just pause..." Josten's has produced this amazing short video about this weird transition and shift that we are all going through. While we are all experiencing loss, we are all gaining something as well. Please watch... https://www.dropbox.com/s/krrd7r5ji6wa3vl/Rooted_In_Love_V4.mp4?dl=0 #243bulldogproud

Thursday the continuity commission will release guidance to schools regarding continuing to educate and how to work with our families. Our administrators will meet online Friday to continue hatching a plan. Keep in mind...Safety first! Do not put yourself in proximity of other people. No face to face. No personal contact. Stay away from other people. This is for your safety, as well as, their safety. Learning to read and write is secondary, at this time, to your health and the health and safety of others. Our #1 charge is to provide a safe environment for students and staff. Right now that means stay away from other people as much as possible. Please do not do anything to cause people to come near you or come near each other. We will, in time, get processes in place for education and meals. For now, be patient! Sincerely, Corey Reese, Superintendent Lebo Waverly USD 243

There is a phrase called "Flattening the Curve". A link to a video that explains the concept is posted below. We need everyone to self isolate as much as you can! We need to take universal precautions such as hygiene and hand-washing. Encourage everyone to keep their kids as isolated as possible. Stay away from places people gather. This is kind of like a full court press, everyone has to be committed to slowing this disease down! If 4 out 5 people cooperate, it will be layups for this virus. We need everyone to self social isolate in order to slow this thing down. https://youtu.be/QIuzLf9f5WI

Everyone, Randy Watson, Commissioner of Education, has recommended closure of schools that are coming off spring break this week. The Governor supports this recommendation. I have meetings tomorrow with County Emergency, Health, and School Leaders. I will let you know what comes from this meeting. Moving forward all district activities are cancelled including sports practice. There will be no sports or activity practice this week. There is a phrase called "Flattening the Curve". I will send you a video that explains the concept. We need everyone to self isolate as much as you can. We need to take universal precautions such as hygiene and hand washing. Encourage everyone to keep their kids as isolated as possible. Stay away from places people gather. This is kind of like a full court press, everybody has to be committed to slowing this disease down. If 4 out 5 people cooperate, It will be layups for this virus. We need everybody to self social isolate in order to slow this thing down. We are on spring break but need to have the mindset that we are closed due to a very fast moving and infectious illness. Sincerely, -- Corey Reese, Superintendent Lebo Waverly USD 243

KSHSAA —The Kansas State High School Activities Association serves students by providing leadership for the administration of education based interscholastic activities— To: Member Schools RE: Suspension of Spring Activities/Athletics COVID 19 – Updated information for spring activities Effective Monday, March 16, all spring sports and activities are suspended through Sunday, March 22. This includes cancellation of all practices and competitions for this week. This prohibition is consistent with KSDE and governmental guidance and may be extended, should conditions warrant. Please note spring sports team members are prohibited from club or outside team participation and practice during this period. Not only would such outside participation be contrary to handbook rule, it would be contrary to the very reason activities are cancelled during the time we seek to mitigate potential transfer of the contagion. kshsaa.org
