Hello,
My name is Summer Shields and I am the Director/Lead Teacher for Lebo Learn and Play. I am so honored for this opportunity to teach at Lebo and look forward to the amazing years to come.
I have been working with children for over 20 years and recently received my CDA. I moved to Lebo a little over 2 years ago with my son Ryden. I started working as a para at Lebo shortly after.
So, a little bit about me. I grew up in Valley Falls, Kansas with my parents and 2 younger brothers. I started my first job at 16 working in a child care center. I knew then, that I would spend my life working with children. After high school, I went to vo-tech and completed their early childhood program. I also earned my CNA. For a short time, I worked at a hospital in Topeka. I moved to Reading to be closer to my family 4 years ago, and lived in Emporia for a short time before moving to Lebo. I can’t tell you how much I love this town/community! It is a true blessing to my son and me.
This job is really a dream come true! I am super excited for this opportunity and I look forward to meeting my daycare families!
