crosswinds

USD243 continues to increase mental health supports at Lebo and Waverly Schools. Through a partnership with Crosswinds, the district has placed a school-based case managed in each building.

Please help us welcome Ryan Harper to Lebo Schools! Ryan will be serving students in PK-12 for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. He is available Monday-Friday to provide additional mental health support during the school day.

Meet Ryan

"Hello Everyone, My name is Ryan Harper and I am the new school-based Case Manager with CrossWinds. I will be based in Lebo. I am currently working on my second Bachelor's degree and then will be starting on a Master's degree in Social Work. I have a large, blended family with six kids.
In my free time I enjoy coaching and going to sporting events. My wife and I want to visit as many college and professional stadiums as we can. We also love fishing and being outdoors. I am excited to get to work with the kids and begin this new journey."

The support provided by school-based case managers are NOT "billed services."

Mental health support is defined as action taken to promote positive mental well-being and can be provided by a caring individual. Supports used with students may include non-judgmental listening, empathy, brainstorming or problem solving, and practicing coping skills or mindfulness. It may also include consultation and/or collaboration with guardians and/or USD 243 personnel. Service, on the other hand, is defined as a billable coded, therapeutic intervention to diagnose and/or treat individuals with mental health conditions or challenges and is provided only with the consent of a guardian.

Support = talking with, listening to, assisting, helping a youth; can be provided by any caring individual (peer or adult)

Service (billed) = mental health service provided by a mental health professional to a youth with the consent of guardian
