Dear Parents and Families,

This letter is to inform you that Lebo Elementary is a school that receives federal Title I funding and will comply with the Parents Right to Know information as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  This law requires all schools receiving Title I funding to inform all parents/guardians of their right to ask schools the following:

Parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s/children’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals including:

-Whether or not the teacher has met Kansas licensing criteria for the grade levels and

subject areas being taught.

-The baccalaureate degree and any other graduate certification or degree(s) and the

 field of discipline of both.

-If services are provided by paraprofessionals, their qualifications.

-If the teacher is teaching under an emergency or professional waiver.

Parents will be contacted by the school if their child(ren) is continuously taught for four or more weeks by a teacher that does not meet the appropriate state certification standards.

As parents, you have the right to request your child’s/children’s state assessment scores.  You also have a right to obtain the school and school district state report card as reported by the Kansas State Department of Education.

The teachers and staff at Lebo Elementary are committed to helping your child succeed in school.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to any of us.
