Snowy background with the words "When the weather outside is frightful

Greetings, USD #243 Families:

Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers, and our school. We wanted to share with you our anticipated plans should there be inclement winter weather in the coming weeks and months that impacts our ability to have students safely attend school.

While school districts across Kansas may choose to handle traditional “snow days” in different ways this year, we believe that proceeding with a plan where we cancel school on inclement winter weather days is in the best interest of the safety for our students, staff, and school community. Our teachers may provide you with some fun and engaging activity ideas and resources for days when school is cancelled due to inclement winter weather. These will be optional and made available for your use at your discretion.

During any upcoming inclement winter weather days, we will communicate with families as soon as possible once we have made the decision to cancel school for that day or in the event of multiple days. Additionally, we will provide other details, updates, and information at that time as well.

Thank you for your time and support. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

USD #243 District Administration

Mr. Reese, Mr. Ford, Ms. Libby, Mrs. Thomas, & Mrs. Wildeman
