Orange box with leaf outlines and the words "Tips for Celebrating Safely This Thanksgiving"

Greetings, USD 243 Lebo-Waverly Families:

We hope this message finds you well as we all find ways to celebrate successes, have fun in safe ways, and as we continue to navigate through any number of challenges this Fall. We wanted to take a moment to simply say “Thank You!” for everything you have done, are doing, and will continue to do to help our students and our school.

We also wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a few things that are just around the corner for all of us, which includes colder weather, more time inside, the onset of cold and flu season, and the upcoming holiday season. Combining these factors with the current trend of rising COVID-19 positive cases across Kansas and across the United States, we wanted to stress the importance of continuing to practice social distancing (at least 6 feet when possible), frequent handwashing, and wearing a mask. Should you encounter any symptoms, we have included a graphic as an attachment that shares which symptoms are most commonly associated with the cold, the flu, and COVID-19.

We have also attached a document called “Tips for Celebrating Safely This Thanksgiving” that includes guidelines for consideration from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We hope you have a safe and fulfilling break, and we appreciate everything that you are doing to focus on the health and success of our students, staff, and community!

Sincerely,

USD243 Administration Team
