Lebo Music Department
January
Key Notes

The New Year is fast approaching, and the Lebo Music Department is moving right along as well. Basketball season is in full swing which means PEP BAND! An updated performance schedule has been sent out to all band members and there are papers in the music room to sign up for the nights you want to play.
We have several students who will be representing Lebo in area honor groups in the next month or so. On January 9th, Sarah Krueger will be traveling to Salina to audition for the Kansas Music Educators Association All-State Honor Band. Good Luck Sarah!
On January 16th, Wyatt Bales (band), Garrett VanArsdale and Alexa Thomas (choir) will be attending the Southeast Kansas Music Educators Association middle level honors festival for band and choir at Burlington High School.
Then on February 6th, Sarah Krueger, Whitney VanArsdale, Steven Blits, Mallory Scott, Garrett VanArsdale, Alexa Thomas, Shelby Williams, Eric Charboneau, and Wyatt Bales will travel to Emporia to be a part of the 10th annual Youth for Music Honor Band. Although the high school division of this festival has been going strong for 10 years, this will be the first year for the Jr. High division honor band, and I am very excited to have so many students involved. They will rehearse all day and both bands will present a concert that night at the historic Granada Theater.
It’s hard to think that half the year is already past, but it’s been a great semester. I want to thank all of you for supporting the Lebo Music Department. I also want to give very special thanks to Jean Rowley and the Lebo Methodist Church Chimes Choir for helping us out at our Winter Vespers concert.
Here’s to an
OUTSTANDING 2010!
